When talking Park University men’s basketball Xavielle Brown’s name is a guarantee to be brought up. The iconic Pirate repeated as a First Team NAIA All-American in 2015-16 and 2016-17, while also capturing a Third Team All-American selection in 2013-14. The Dr. Doris Howell Leadership Award recipient also was esteemed in the American Midwest Conference as a two-time AMC player of the Year and a four-time AMC First Team All-Conference honoree.
Garnering 2,074 career points, an average of 18.5 points per game, Brown led the Pirates to consecutive NAIA National Championship Opening Rounds in 2016 and 2017. Over the span of his career, he recorded 15 games of 30 or more points. He was also recognized twice as a Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Enshrinee. His senior year, he ranked seventh in scoring in the NAIA with 21 points per game. In that same 2016-17 season, Brown earned his career high with 41 points in a game against Lyon College in the quarterfinals of the AMC Championship.
His play commanded the respect of those around him, but exhibiting leadership and high character attributes are what set him apart even further.
