Park’s first NAIA All-American in women’s volleyball, Colleen (Mahoney) Scherman was a two-year star for the Pirates on the volleyball court, playing from 2005 to 2006, earning Third-Team All-America honors in the NAIA in her senior season. A 2007 Park graduate, she led the Pirates in her senior season at 3.99 kills per set, an average that was second in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) and 24th in all of NAIA women's volleyball. In her career, Scherman collected 1,164 kills and 1,094 digs, totals that were accomplished in just two seasons and still stand fifth and 10th in Park's career record books. She held the Park University record for single-season kills from 2006 to 2013, totaling 616 kills in the 2005 season, leading the MCAC, and another 548 in 2006. Her 2005 kills-per-set average (4.41) also led the MCAC and was eighth in NAIA women's volleyball.
