Box Score The Park University women's soccer program soundly defeated Missouri Baptist University on Park's 150th Anniversary Homecoming on Julian Field, 4-nil.

The Pirates move to 4-2-2 on the season with a 2-1-2 Heart of America Athletic Conference record, while Missouri Baptist sits at 3-7-1 and 2-3 of the same. As it stands right now, Park is No. 7 in the standings and the Spartans are on the bubble at No. 9, as we approach the halfway mark on the conference matchups.

The last time these teams played was in 2019 when they were in the American Midwest Conference together and now Park moves to 22-7-1 against the Spartans. The Pirates are tough at home against Missouri Baptist at 14-1-1.

What else can you say, except that the Pirates kept the Spartans busy on their side of the midline. 12 shots on goal were fired by Park with four goals coming in.

The senior striker Patrycia Kozak immediately gave her team a boost with a 14th minute goal, all made possible by a nice ball from Megan Everhart through the Spartan defense.

Lilli Porsch quickly made this 2-nil in the 22nd minute and another assist came in from Everhart, the senior from McPherson, Kan.

Just before halftime the Pirates snuck another goal in, this time from Emma Le in the 43rd minute after making the keeper miss for a tap in.

There were 16 shots in the first half for Park, while Missouri Baptist had three for the entire game.

Eight saves kept the game where it was though by Missouri Baptist.

Missouri Baptist had two corner kicks in the first half, while Park had none. Meanwhile in the second half, eight corner kicks were driven in by the Pirates.

Quickly into the second half, Piper Zeigler scored on a header in the 46th minute off of a set piece by Kozak. She was on the microphone for this Pirate post-game.

The backline for the Pirates held true and Williams and the defense got the shutout on two saves.

Park will be back in action in Marshall, Mo. on Saturday, October 4 against NAIA Top 10 opponent Missouri Valley College. WATCH
