The (RV) Park University women's golf program played two rounds of continuous golf at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kan. on Monday. The weather forecast for Tuesday prompted the tournament to be 36-holes played straight through on Monday at the Central Plains Invitational.
The Pirates made the most of their Monday scores and placed 2nd as a team, only behind Barton Community College, which one the event by 33 strokes. A 648 was five strokes better than Baker, as the Pirates dropped a 325 and 323 in round one and two.
Micaela Suhl was even in round two and came in 2nd place at the event with a 151 on scores of 79 and 72.
Kim Albertus and
Bella Negley were in a pod together, as Albertus was 10th and Negley T11th. Albertus turned in scores of 80 and 81 for a 161, while Negley was one stroke back at 162 with rounds of 78 and 84.
Grace Rogers placed T23rd with a 174 and shot 88 and 86.
The final Pirate was Alivia Ambert who came in 37th on scores of 102 and 95 for a 197.
Park will be back next week on Monday and Tuesday, September 29-30 for the York University Fall Invite in York, Neb.
