The Park University men's golf team was in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Monday and Tuesday at Bent Tree Golf Course for the Bent Tree Intercollegiate hosted by Iowa Western Community College.
The Pirates in this 54-hole format shot a 925 as a team with rounds of 306, 308, and 311. Rain on the last day of competition was also another challenge to overcome for the field of golfers.
Noah Pirtle was the leader for Park during the tournament, coming on strong in his final round shooting an even 72. He moved up 11 spots and placed T12th with a 224 on rounds of 75, 77, 72.
Payne Wood took T27th with a 230 and fired 77, 75, and 78. His teammate
Carson Coleman was only two strokes behind at 232 with scores of 76, 75, and 81 for T34th.
Charlie Santonsson and
Ryan Holtz were neck and neck at 243 and 244 for the tournament, respectively. Santonsson placed T50th with scores of 82, 81, 80; while Holtz was at 244 with a scorecard of 78, 85, 81.
Pedro Treceno competed as an individual and shot a 241 for 49th on rounds of 82, 79, 80.
Park will be back in Parkville, Mo. for the Virginia McCoy Fall Invitational at the National Golf Club of Kansas City and the Bluffs Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, October 13-14.
