The Park University men's golf program was at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo. on Monday and Tuesday for the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship Preview. The Pirates were towards the front of the pack in 4th when it was all said and done.
The Pirates moved up two spots into 4th with a 632 overall score, going from a 317 on day one to a 315 on day two.
Missouri Valley College is No. 16 in the NAIA and won the event with a 591, just 15 strokes over par.
Cash Foltz was the leader for Park in the top 10 at T8th. The freshman had a good showing in his first conference preview with a 154 on rounds of 76 and 78.
Charlie Santonsson was T14th and improved four spots into the final day with a 156 overall score on two rounds of 78.
Kaden Tyner had a huge jump from day one to day two, and joins Foltz in his first conference preview. Tyner and Foltz also share the same hometown and both attended Wamego High School. Tyner T25th with a 162, but had a 12 stroke improvement from a 87 to a 75 in the second round.
Samuel Ramirez out of Staley High School shot a 82 and 84 for a 166, landing in T32nd.
The fourth freshman representing for Park was
Payne Wood who was T35th after rounds of 81 and 87 for a 168.
The Pirates will get back to work in the spring for the second half of their season.
