The Park University men's golf program was at the William Woods Fall Invite on Monday and Tuesday at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo.
The Pirates got to compare scores with two Heart of America Athletic Conference opponents present at the event, Central Methodist University and Missouri Valley College. Central Methodist was five strokes under par for 3
rd place, finishing 14 strokes ahead of Park, while the Pirates were one place above Missouri Valley in 6
th with a 585, three strokes ahead of the Vikings.
The hosting Owls won the event on a score of 562, 14 strokes under par.
Park shot a 293 in round one and then closed out the tournament with a 292.
Dylan Comstock led the Pirates in T6th place with a 141, tying his career 36-hole tournament low. He was three under par on scores of 72 and 69.
Noah Pirtle was under par for the second straight tournament with a 143 at Tanglewood, or one stroke under par. His first round was impressive at 68 and then closed out round two with a 75 for T11th.
Gabe Grier shot a 149 with a 77 in round one and a big improvement in round two with a 72 for T29th.
Teegan Lancaster came in 48
th with a 155 after rounds of 79 and 76. His day two score is his best so far as a Pirate in his second tournament this season.
Colin Pasitney was in 58
th with scores of 76 and 81 for a 157.
The Pirates have their home tournament coming up on October 7-8 for the Virginia McCoy Fall Invitational at the National and the Bluffs Golf Course at the National Golf Club of Kansas City.
