The No. 3 nationally ranked Park University men's volleyball program was at home on Saturday afternoon against Clarke University in Breckon Sports Center.
The Pirates improved to 16-0 and 6-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with a 25-12, 25-17, 25-19 sweep. The Pride drop to 4-5 and 1-4 of the same.
The Pirates hit .426 for the match on a tremendous offensive season so far with a .368 average as a team.
Some key players for the Pirates only played one set to allow for contributions from the full roster.
Alesandro Tolin and
Veljko Stojic were the leaders for the Pirates offensively with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Tolin hit .529 from the middle and Stojic hit .455 from the outside.
Seven different Pirates had multiple digs in the match and Stojic led with five.
It was a steady night of kills and blocks from the middle, including
Mihailo Ivanovic and
Moises Ortiz, both with two solo blocks and three block assists. Ivanovic then had six kills, while Ortiz earned five to go along with their defensive numbers.
Umberto Caleca was the primary setter for the match with 26 assists and four digs.
