The No. 3 nationally ranked Park University men's volleyball program was in Breckon Sports Center on Tuesday, February 24 against Kansas Wesleyan University. The Pirates got to work quick against the Coyotes for the sweep, 25-12, 25-15, 25-15.
The Pirates jump to 15-0 and 7-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while Kansas Wesleyan is still in search of their first Heart win at 0-6 and 2-6 on the year.
The Pirates hit .542 in set one with a little dip at .190 in set two, but then fired back a 16 kill, .609 hitting percentage third set.
Ignacio Pedemonte was the leader for Park with 14 kills and hit .824 from the outside, an impeccable 14 kills on zero errors and 17 swings.
Park as a team also made it hard for the Coyotes with two solo blocks and eight block assists. Among the Pirates, Harris Delic and
Alessandro Tolin stood out with their three block assists defensively.Â
Aside from Pedemonte, Tolin also was a weapon with nine kills in the match.
Umberto Caleca was setting it well, finishing with 37 assists, five digs, and a service ace.
