Senator Luetkemeyer Resolution Honors Alex Rodriguez for Outstanding Career Milestones at Park University

5/2/2025 8:30:00 AM

The Park University baseball program's senior third basemen Alex Rodriguez has had many honors over his Pirate career, which began in 2020 to present, but maybe none as meaningful as the recent Resolution by Missouri Senator Tony Luetkemeyer.

Park University Director of Athletics was informed earlier this month from the Office of Senator Luetkemeyer that Alex was to be the recipient of a Resolution in his honor for the outstanding achievements he's had at Park, namely his recent designations as Park's career at-bats, hits, and runs scored leader.

Senator Luetkemeyer was first elected in 2018 and was reelected in 2022 to a second term to represent Buchanan and Platte counties. You can learn more about Senator Luetkemeyer, here.
"It was such an honor to be recognized by the Missouri Senate. It's a special moment I'll never forget", said Rodriguez after the resolution was presented to him.

It's fitting that such a prolific career with the baseball program would be seen during Park's 150th Anniversary celebration as an institution. All three of the career records that Alex broke were previously held by terrific Park talents and have all stood since the 2010 season or before. Aaron Courter held the at-bats and hits records from 2003-06, while Ryan Weedin set the runs record over the 2006-09 seasons.

The graduate student working on his master's degree in criminal justice shared his appreciation of Senator Luetkemeyer saying, "I'm grateful to represent my school and it's incredible that the Senate recognizes college athletes in such a meaningful way".

Alex has solidified himself in Park history individually, but has also been a key contributor in Park's record breaking 2024 season with 36, the most wins in program history.

Alex and the Pirates have more baseball to be had in 2025 and await No. 1 Grand View University at 5pm in Ozark, Mo. on Friday, May 2. WATCH
