The Park University competitive cheer program turned heads in Daytona Beach, Fla. at NCA College Nationals on April 9^th-12^th.

The Pirates in their first competition since at least 2014-15 was a huge success. Led by Head Coach Madalyn Coffmann, Park in its competition debut earned a resounding 3^rd place in the finals with a total score of 87.1944. Park's raw score in the finals was 79.7667 with only 0.75 deductions.

The Pirates had to make it to the finals first and were surrounded by established NAIA programs. It didn't matter though, as Park's prelims was a good warmup for the final stage, as they took 4^th initially with a 21.2847 event score, a 77.3 raw score, and a consistent 0.75 deduction.

"I'm so proud of how we were able to represent Park University on the nationals stage and bring back some hardware to The 'Ville", said Coffman. "We are extremely grateful to Kristin Gillette for providing the opportunity for us to compete as a first year program and for the outpouring of support across the athletic department".
