Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Park Wins Three Straight at Home to Begin the 2025-26 Campaign with Comfortable Win Over Hannibal-LaGrange, 79-57

The Park University women's basketball program is off to a hot start in 2025-26 with three consecutive wins in Breckon Sports Center. On Thursday evening, Park stayed above their season average of 77 points with a 79-57 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University.

The Trojans are on a backwards slide and stand at 0-3 on the year.

All 13 members of the roster got in on the action, as Park shot 40-percent as a team with a 30-percent three-point percentage, seven-of-23.

It was a blitz by the Pirates to begin the game as it was 9-0 within the first two minutes of play. The Trojans got back to a competitive stance to 11-8 by the 4:47 mark, but the Pirates' Nadiyah Cooper hit a big trey to give Park a six-point lead and was assisted by Elizabeth Boehm, 14-8. Staying in control the rest of the quarter, Park led by eight, 22-14.

Madison Hill started off the second quarter with some fireworks with another three-pointer to give Park a 25-14 lead. A couple of free-throws and a bucket by Charleece Davis extended the lead to 15, 29-14. Both Cooper and Davis showed good finish at the rim and led Park offensively with eight points each in the first half. Park went to the locker room sporting 43-26 lead.

In the third quarter, a 9-0 run by Park, started by a Cooper and-one, created even more separation and Marina Perdiguero had four points in that span as well, 54-29. In the last five minutes of the third quarter, the Pirates and Trojans closed out the half with five and six points respectively for a 59-35 third quarter total.

There was opportunity to see the full extent of the Pirates' squad, including a nice three pointer by Nashia Coleman, assisted by Davis, at the 4:47 mark, 68-48. Hill had another three, followed by scoring from Rhiannon Blackburn and Erica Farmer to arrive at Park's 22-point win, 79-57.

The Trojans had 10 more turnovers than Park with 27, leading to 20 points off turnovers for Park.

The Pirates also had 12 more points off second chance points with 21.

Hannibal-LaGrange got to the ilne more than Park with 31 attempts, but only made 20 for a 64-percent free-throw performance compared to 16-of-21 for the Pirates, 76-percent.

The Trojans were not focusing on three-point shooting at only one-of-seven on the night, while the Pirates enjoyed some success at seven-of-23.

By the end of the night, Cooper led Park with 13 points, followed by 12 points from Perdiguero and 11 from Davis.

Davis led Park with six assists, while Jordan Bianco and Boehm each contribued three.

Perdiguero locked in on a double-double with 10 rebounds to lead Park and Farmer was next in line with nine boards and only three points shy of the double-double mark.

Following the contest, Boehm joined us for a Pirate Post-Game, sharing great thoughts on her start at Park and the team's performance in the early going.
The Pirates will be on the road for the first time this year on Saturday at 3pm in Crete, Neb., facing Doane University. WATCH
