The annual Remy William Invitational is dedicated to Remy Williams and his family to celebrate the life of a man defined by generosity, service, and leadership.
About Remy Williams
Remington “Remy” Williams lived a life defined by generosity, service, and leadership far beyond his years. A graduate of Pembroke Hill and Georgetown College, Remy was known for his bright smile, quick wit, and selfless spirit. From a young age, he dedicated himself to helping others—volunteering annually at the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship in Kansas City, building lasting relationships within the Georgetown basketball community, and leading in nearly every circle he touched. At Georgetown, he served as fraternity president, student-body president, class graduation speaker, and team manager during the Tigers’ 2019 National Championship season.
Tragically, in June 2022, Remy’s promising journey was cut short when he was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver, just weeks before taking the bar exam. His life, however, continues to make a profound difference through the Remington Williams Legacy Foundation, created by his family and loved ones to carry forward his mission of compassion and service.
Today, the foundation operates Remy’s Legacy Academy in Santa Catarina Barahona and San Antonio Aguas Caliente, Guatemala, where Remy once taught English and built deep connections. The Academy, opened in January 2024, now provides vital education to 40 children—10 preschoolers, 20 primary students, and 10 middle and high school students—with a waiting list of more children eager to learn.
Beyond Guatemala, the foundation funds three scholarships for students and leads impactful outreach in Kansas City, including purchasing, wrapping, and personally delivering 100 Christmas gifts to the homeless each year in partnership with the Salvation Army’s Honk and Holler food truck.
Your support helps sustain and grow these efforts—expanding education, offering hope, and continuing the spirit of giving that defined Remy’s life. By contributing to the Remington Williams Memorial Fund, you are helping to build a future that reflects his values: service, generosity, and an enduring belief in the power of community. Let us honor his memory by ensuring his legacy lives on—and by reminding all to never drive drunk and to always choose to #LiveLikeRemy.
