The Park University women's golf program has been on a roll to start the 2025 season and has garnered some national attention and now is No. 25 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 poll, announced by the NAIA on Thursday.
The Pirates women's golf program began in 2003 and has received votes in the past, but has not crossed the threshold into the Top 25 until now.
Headed up by
Martha Linscott, the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Golf Coach of the Year in 2021, has continued to keep the program sharp.
The Pirates in the last two years have broken several key records, including low 18-hole team round, low 36-hole team tournament, low 18-hole individual round, and low 36-hole individual tournament scores.
The Pirates have been playing well up and down the lineup consisting of
Micaela Suhl,
Anna Korsen,
Kim Albertus,
Pawinee Sukasem,
Grace Rogers,
ZaZa Cagle,
Peyton Kuhlman,
Marissa Wortkoetter,
Hannah Reynoldson, and
Cooper Brading.
Suhl and Korsen each have individual tournament wins this season and each set the record for low 36-hole tournament individual score with a 141 (-3). Suhl managed to crush her own 18-hole round score record that day at the William Woods Fall Invite with a 66 (-6).
The Pirates have also began the year with three tournament wins as a team with a full head of steam approaching the 2024 Heart Conference Fall Preview on Monday and Tuesday, October 21-22.
