The Park University No. 5 nationally ranked beach volleyball program was a shoe-in to the 2023 NAIA Beach Volleyball Invitational Tournament hosted on April 20-22 in Panama City Beach, Fla.

The six qualifiers to only the second national invitational tournament of its class were also the same six qualifiers in the inaugural tournament in 2022.

You might get some serious hints of déjà vu when you realize that Park is playing against the same pool play opponents this year as in 2022.

Park will play Westcliff University first on April 20 and then play OUAZ for their next match. Last year Park fell to Westcliff 5-0 and defeated OUAZ 3-2.  

The Pirates in 2023 have been ranked No. 5 in six straight NAIA Top 10 Polls and only have one loss against NCAA Division I opponent, University of Nebraska. Park is the only one-loss team in the qualifying field and set a new program best with a 16-1 overall record..

This year, Westcliff is ranked No. 1 with a 17-3 overall record, while OUAZ is No. 4 at 16-8.
