Men's soccer was the bright spot early on for Park in the fall, but it lost on the road to MidAmerica Nazarene and Clark, and now fell for a third straight time in a 2-0 loss against Benedictine at Julian Field to fall to 5-4-1 on the season.
How it Happened
After a 24-hour delay due to lightning problems at Julian Field, the match finally kicked off on Thursday afternoon (originally scheduled for Wednesday night). Park put pressure on the Ravens early, with three shots in the first 16 minutes of play, but were outshot 5-1 the rest of the first half. The match got cippy early and stayed that way until the final whistle was blown, with the Pirates receiving three bench yellow cards for their coaching staff, and three player yellow cards. Benedictine did receive two yellows, both by players. Benedictine finally broke the tie in between all the fouls and cards, as Anthony Osorio put one in the back of the net to give the Ravens a lead. Less than four minutes later, the Ravens scored a second time, this time by Sam Gutierrez. Park put up three more shots after falling down 2-0, but couldn't score anything.
