Men's and Women's Soccer Both Fall on the Road Against Clarke

Men's soccer was beaten soundly, 4-0, for its third conference loss of the year. Women's soccer lost 4-1 to drop to 2-7-1.

Park University Women's Soccer fell to Clarke University 4-0, dropping to 2-7-1, and the men's team lost 4-0 as well, marking their third conference loss. Both teams have dropped back-to-back losses on the road this week.

How it Happened

Women's Soccer at Clarke University

Clarke Women's Soccer came with just one loss on the season and were never threatened by the Pirates at any point in the 90 minutes of play. Clarke set the tone early, scoring a goal in the sixth minute. Things got worse from there for the Pirates, as Clarke added two more goals in the 13th minute, including one penalty kick goal. After that, Clarke backed off a little with the comfortable lead, recording just one shot in the last 32 minutes of the first half. Park had just two shots in the first half. Clarke maintained pressure in the second half, forcing up five shots from the 58th minute to the 65th minute before finding a great look and burying it in the 79th minute. Clarke had 13 shots on the match altogether, while Park recorded five.

Men's Soccer at Clarke University

Men's Soccer didn't have much better luck than women's did on the road trip to Clarke, losing 4-0 and dropping its second straight conference match by four or more goals. Park was competing well with Clarke in the first half, holding the Pride to five shots, but only put up three on the offensive side. However, Clarke still scored the lone goal of the first half in the 28th minute, shut down any chance from the Pirates, and took the lead into halftime. Park looked different at the start of the second half after putting up three shots in the first 10 minutes, but didn't record another shot the rest of the match, recording just six shots. Clarke had the last 10 shots, including three for goals, and took the 4-0 win.
