The Park University women's soccer team played Baker University on Saturday, October 11 at Julian Field, earning the 8-3 win.
Park moved to 6-3-2 on the year with a 4-2-2 Heart record. Baker had about half the wins at 3-6-3 and 2-4-2, respectively.
It all started with
Lilli Porsch who got Park on the board at the 6:58 mark, assisted by
Patrycia Kozak. No more than 32 seconds later, Kozak then got on the box score with a goal froma penalty kick to give her 10 goals for the season.Â
Soon Baker cut the lead in half in the 16th minute with a goal, but Kozak was looking to extend the lead with two more goals spanning the first and second halves in the 19th minute and the 46th minute.Â
Baker's next goal attempted to keep it within reach at 4-2 in the 49th minute, but two minutes later a ball booted all the way down the pitch by
Frankie Williams in at keeper, was ran down by
Rand Taleb for a 5-2 lead.Â
Kozak, already with a hat trick in the game, got her 13th goal on the season in the 54th minute. A key goal that eventually secured her spot as the Heart Offensive Player of the Week.
Megan Everhart found the back of the net in the 64th minute from Taleb and then the 8th goal was registered by
Sophia Pope in the 75th minute on an assist from
Emma Le.
Baker got a goal in the 79th but the game was well out of reach at that point, 8-3.
