The Park University women's soccer program were on the road in Hastings, Neb. with a tough matchup in No. 23 Hastings College. The Broncos did well at their home pitch with a 4-nil win over Park.
Park moves to 1-1-1 on the year with their first loss coming against a ranked opponent. Hastings was also undefeated coming into the contest and are now 2-0-1.
The Broncos got off to a good first half with 14 shots to only two for the Pirates. It was scoreless after 20 minutes of play until the 23
rd minute when the Broncos broke the silence with the game's first goal. Only four minutes would pass before Hastings went up 2-nil in the '27.
Delaney Duke was under duress with six shots on goal in the half, but she managed to stop four saves. Hastings keeper had two saves in the first half and ended the match with four saves.
Hastings had less opportunities in the second half with only eight shots, but the same result was on the scoreboard with a goal in 59
th minute and again at '72 for a 4-nil win.
Park had four shots in the second half with another two on goal.
Megan Everhart had two of those shots on goal, while Cecile Esbak Pederson and
Annalena Penshorn each had one.
The Pirates remain on the road, but closer this time in Kansas City, Mo., as the Pirates face Avila University on Wednesday, September 4 at 4pm.
