The Park University men's soccer program was on the road in Atchison, Kan. to face No. 24 Benedictine College on Wednesday night, falling 1-nil to the Ravens.
After going undefeated in non-conference play, the Heart of America Athletic Conference games have been elusive for Park so far and are 0-2 in the Heart and 3-2-1 on the regular season. The Ravens have been excellent though this point in the year at 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the Heart. The Ravens have had a perfect September at 5-0.
This past season the Pirates were 1-1 in games against the Ravens, defeating Benedictine 3-2 at their place and then Park in its first Heart Quarterfinal match played at Julian Field, the Pirates lost 1-nil like this most recent skirmish.
The Ravens' Noah Reuscher between the posts has four shutouts this season and was the conference defensive player of the week to begin 2024. He had three saves in this highly defensive match.
Both teams just managed six shots in the first half, the Pirates had three shots on goal compared to only one for the Ravens. The one shot was an unassisted goal; however, from Kody Argaez who put Benedictine up 1-nil at the 19:56 mark.

Felipe Ramos Peralta defended well in the second half with four saves.
As the match went along, the Ravens had more chances down the stretch and locked down on Park opportunities, as the Ravens had 14 shots for the game and 11 registered by Park.
Each side had identical numbers on corner kicks as well, three in the first half and two in the second half for both sides.
The Pirates look to get back right with the Vikings of Grand View University on Saturday, September 21 in Des Moines, Iowa.
