Park University's softball program was in Olathe, Kan. for a Friday doubleheader against MidAmerica Nazarene University. MidAmerica Nazarene had a late surge for the game one win 5-4, while Park won the pitching dual in game two, 2-1.
Park is now .500 for the season and 3-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while the Pioneers are 19-15 and 6-4, respectively.

Three runs were scored by both teams in the second inning,
Nia Muniz tripled to bring in to runs and
Emma James grounded out to bring in Muniz from third.
The score held until the fifth inning, when
Shelby Sanders doubled to give Park the go-ahead run.
Two runs scored in the bottom of the fifth though in the 5-4 loss.
Dakota Rau went six innings in the complete game.
Kal Day and
Miranda LaMunyon each join Sanders with doubles.

Lauren Fiene had a terrific game two with an eight-inning complete game with only one earned run allowed.
Both starting pitchers held down the opposing team's offense and eight runners for each team were left on base.
Park was down 1-0 in the top of the seventh, when
Caroline Riffer's single to left field tied the game at 1-1.
In the next inning Day hit a sacrifice fly to put Park up for good.
Fiene would use the momentum in the bottom of the eighth and went three-up, three-down for the 2-1 win.
