The Park University men's indoor track & field program is coming off of appearances at the 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Brookings, S.D. on Thursday through Saturday.
The men's 4x400m relay team made up of
Amael Maunay,
Shemar Caines,
Ahmad Evans,
Chase Housh, and
Michael Boguslawski as an alternate, took on the competition at nationals and posted a time of 3:21.71 for 21
st place. Â
Alexander Caines is the 2024 Heart Indoor Track & Field 600m champion and had an excellent showing in the 600m event in Brookings, S.D. He is the only Pirate with experience from 2023 at nationals and he looked in his element with his new personal record of 1:20.16. He grabbed 10
th place and was two spots away from qualifying for the final heat. His time was .10 seconds away from tying the 8
th place finisher.
Evans was the only Pirate to compete in multiple events at 2024 nationals and took 20
th in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.87m.
