The Pirates Shock No. 8 Statesmen on the Road, 1-Nil

The Park University men's soccer program traveled to Oskaloosa, Iowa on Saturday, defeating the No. 8 nationally ranked William Penn University Statesmen, 1-nil.

Park bumps up to 7-2-2 on the year with a 4-2-1 Heart of America Athletic Conference record, while William Penn now has two losses in conference play as well at 6-2-0 and 12-2-1 on the season.

The Pirates have roared back in the conference standings and are in third in points as they are undefeated in their last five games, 4-0-1.

Already with a Heart Offensive Player of the Week award, Jacksyn McIntyre has continued his impressive opening season at Park with his sixth goal of the season and his fourth game-winning goal on Saturday. McIntyre delivered the lone goal on the day at the 11:43 mark in the first half, which was enough for Park to take the win.

Credit Park's defense for shutting out the Statesmen, the first scoreless game for William Penn this season. Park now has six shutouts on the season with three coming in Heart play. Felipe Ramos Peralta, earned six saves against the Statesmen and eventually was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
