The Park University men's soccer program matched up with University of Saint Mary on Wednesday evening in Leavenworth, Kan., making the most of the only score on the night for a 1-0 victory.
The Spires are 0-2-2 on the year, while Park has now won two games in a row in two consecutive days for a 2-1 record.
Joao Kawasaki, the transfer from Neosho Community College, earned his first goal of his Pirate career and was the game winning strike in the 61
st minute.
Wayde Roman had his second assist on the season, coming in back-to-back games.
Saint Mary had one more corner kick opportunity in the match, six compared to five, while the Pirates unloaded five more shots. Park had eight first half shots and six in the second half, while the Spires were five and four of the same.
Seven of Park's shots were on goal, while the four for the Spires were all bottled up by
Elias Eichhorn who earns his 12
th career shutout at Park.
