Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Park Scores at Will, Defeats KCC 9-1

The Park University men's soccer team returned to their home pitch to face the Falcons of Kansas Christian College on Tuesday and after a showering of goals, the Pirates defeated KCC, 9-1.

Park gains their first win of the year and now are at 1-1 on the season and the Falcons move to an even 1-1 as well.

The Falcons are within the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and both programs met for this first time this evening.

It was a scoring frenzy the Pirates in this contest, which included two goals within the first 15 minutes of the game and within a minute of each other. Alfonso Vigna curled a corner kick into the box, which caught Bradyn McIntyre perfectly for the first goal of the game at 14:02.

At 14:56, Marcos Fernandes scored his first goal of his Pirate season debut, also assisted by Vigna.

Two more goals came in the first half, one by each side. McIntyre showcased his offensive ability as a defender again at 24:52 for his second goal of the half, assisted by Joao Kawasaki.

KCC was able to answer the 3-nil start with a goal in the 39th minute to break the shutout. This would end up being the only shot on goal for the Falcons and only one of three shots in the game.

Park had 20 shots in the second half, while KCC had zero.

Six goals would be scored by Park in the second half. Two more Park players joined McIntyre with two goals, including Wayde Roman and Francesco Esteban.

Julian Campos also mimicked Vigna with two assists of his own in the second half. Other goal scorers, include Samuele Pintossi, Julian Campos, and Filip Andonovski.

Tyler Snapp the junior from Kearney, Mo. was able to get his first career start between the posts and got the win in his debut.

Nine goals in a game has happened a handful of times in Park men's soccer history most recently in 2016 and 2007.

The minutes were spread out through the entire lineup tonight and Park will suit up on back to back nights, as they move on to face University of Saint Mary tomorrow in Leavenworth, Kan. at 7:30pm. Watch the game here.
