Park University's softball program competed in a non-conference pairing with No. 20 Ottawa University on Wednesday, ending with a sweep for the Braves, 6-4 and 6-4.
This will settle Park in at 12-9 on the season, while their Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent moves to 25-4 on the year.
The Pirates out hit the Braves each game, tallying 20 hits to Ottawa's 11. Park had two errors through both games, while Ottawa had a zero in that column.
Halle Magee and
Kali Day each homered between game one and game two and were Park's only extra-base hits in two games.
In the series,
Macee Austin and
Shelby Sanders co-led Park with four hits each.
Park's staff had 12 strikeouts collectively on the day, while Ottawa only struck out three Pirates. In the series, the Pirates had seven walks though, opposed to zero for the Braves.

The Pirates led by four runs after the fourth inning. Singles by
Lexie Schroeder and Dani Klein led to a Magee home run for the game's first runs.
After a one-two-three inning by
Abbie Farmer in the top of the fourth, Austin scored
Mya Lewis on a ball over the third basemen's head for the 4-0 lead.
That would be the last runs for Park, as Ottawa scored two runs in the fifth and sixth innings to force extra innings.
Farmer pitched four innings and only allowed two runs on two hits and two strikeouts.
Dakota Rau and
Adrianna Solary were in relief with four innings and five strikeouts between them.
Ottawa scored two runs in the top of the eighth to overtake Park, 6-4.
GAME 2 BOX SCORE | 4-6
Nia Muniz pitched in game two for Park, going 5.2 effective innings, but was hurt by five walks and two home runs. Ottawa had a two-run home run in the top of the first and hit a grand slam in the top of the sixth.
The Pirates answered in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run of their own by Day. Then Sanders gave her team the lead with an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the third.
Park was able to get a run back in the bottom of the sixth after the Brave's grand slam, but were unable to regain control in a 6-4 game.
Rau came back in the second game with an inning and a third scoreless innings pitched in relief of Muniz. Rau had her third strikeout for the day after her second appearance.
In game two, Schroeder had great defensive plays, including a diving catch and robbed extra bases on a ball heading to the left centerfield wall.
Four Pirates had two-hit performances in game two, including Austin, Magee, Sanders, and Schroeder.
Park will host MidAmerica Nazarene University on Friday, March 31 at 1pm for a Heart of America Athletic Conference doubleheader at the Park Softball Complex.
