Park University's men's basketball program hosted the Eagles of Central Methodist University in Park's last home Heart of America Athletic Conference matchup of the year, falling to the Eagles 71-60.
The Pirates come in at 5-21 on the year and 3-18 in the Heart, while the Eagles have now won nine of their last 10 games and improve to 17-10 and 14-7 in conference play.
With only a three-point advantage at halftime, the Pirates and Eagles stayed in step with one another during the first bit of action. At the start of the game though, Central Methodist began with seven unanswered points in just over two minutes that instigated a Park timeout.

Shahadah Camp and
Robert Rhodes were instrumental early on with the first 12 points of the game. Camp, from Grand Rapids, Mich., was on a mission with some tough jumpers and had 10 points in the first 7:45 of the game.
Camp was second on the team in scoring on senior night, closing out his last game at Breckon Sports Center with a 12-point effort.
Park unfortunately, found themselves behind from start to finish in this contest. Every time a Park counter attempted to overthrow the Eagles, Central Methodist seemed to have the right answer each time.
Central Methodist stayed ahead of Park at the break, but
Darius Jones was on time with a made three-pointer to end the half for both teams, 30-27.
A 10-2 scoring run started the second half for the Eagles with two drained three-pointers landing in the first 1:43 of play, 40-29.
The Eagles were 10-of-32 from range in the game, while six of these three-pointers came in the second half.
Park upped their production in their second half scoring, despite being only one-of-eight from deep for the game.
Eventually the Eagles moved into a 15-point lead at 9:53, 56-41. Following a Park timeout things started to look up for the Pirates, as a burst of scoring from Sebastian Jiminez Reynoso and
Macio Moananu moved the them within striking distance.
Moananu earned a new career-high off the bench and scored eight points, all in the second half. Over the next two minutes, The Pirates would score 12 unanswered points and were only three points off of the visiting Eagles, 56-53.
Eli Habighorst went up and under for the layup followed by a Reynoso tip-in to make it a one possession game with 7:19 remaining.
Once again, the Eagles responded exactly when they needed to with eight straight points to make things difficult again for the Pirates with 4:20 to go.
Another 7-0 run for the Eagles gave them their largest lead of the night of 16 points with just over 2 minutes to go. At the end of the night, Central Methodist sported a 71-60 win over Park.
Augusto Hausmann was Park's leading scorer with 19 points on eight-of-14 from the field. He also was just off of double-double numbers with eight assists.
Reynoso was excellent in rebounding tonight with 11, the second time he has been above 10 rebounds off the bench this season.
Camp did a nice job distributing the basketball and earned four assists in the game. Habirghorst was of like mind with Camp and tallied six assists as well.
Neither team had especially great nights at the strike, seven-of-14 from the Pirates and only 33.3-percent from the Eagles.
Park had the higher shooting percentage than the Eagles during the game, 46.4-percent compared to 42.6-percent.
The Pirates doubled the number of turnovers the Eagles had, as Park had 16 total turnovers go against them compared to Central Methodist's eight. In the second half alone, Park had nine turnovers, which translated to 24 points off turnovers for Central Methodist throughout the game.
Saturday, February 18 will be Park's last game of the season, as Park takes on Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa at 4pm.
