Park University's women's basketball program competed against Culver-Stockton College on Saturday in Canton, Mo., ending in a 78-36 win for the Wildcats.
Park now sits at 5-20 on the year and are 3-17 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while Culver-Stockton snapped a four-game losing streak and are 16-10 and 11-9 of the same.
This was the second game this season that Culver-Stockton held the Pirates below 40 points, as Park was held to 26.5-percent from the field.
Park had an 11-7 lead just over four minutes into the first quarter, but the Wildcats pulled a reversal and led 18-12 after the first quarter off of a made three-pointer as time expired.
Culver-Stockton was able to keep up the intensity with 21 points in the second quarter compared to Park's 6-point second quarter. This was the first of two quarters Park would be held under 10 points, the second instance occurring in the fourth quarter with only three points.
Culver-Stockton more than doubled the number of points off of turnovers as the Pirates, 35 to 15. The number of turnovers also was in Culver-Stockton's advantage with 15 for the game, while Park had 27.
Park found themselves in a hole that proved to be difficult to get out of, as the score was 78-36 when it was all said and done.
The Wildcats shot a healthy 45-percent from the field and were nine-of-21 from beyond the arc.
Makayla Artis scored 10 points, the only Pirate in double-figures. She also earned five rebounds to lead her team.
Donetria McGee was next in line in scoring with seven points on a three-of-eight day from the field.
Park continues the Heart schedule with their last home game of the season against Central Methodist University at 5:30pm on Wednesday, February 15.
