The Park University men's soccer program had two individuals recognized with 2023 Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference awards on Thursday, including Wayde Roman and Elias Eichhorn.

Roman was voted in as a Heart First Team All-Conference performer, while Eichhorn came away with a second team all-conference nod. Both student-athletes finished strong with their first Heart All-Conference awards of their careers.
 
The strong forward from Cape Town, South Africa had a career year for the Pirates with six goals and six assists. He now has 13 goals in his career and six game winning goals.
 
None of those game winning goals may have been in a bigger moment than in the senior day matchup with No. 17 William Penn at Julian Field on Saturday, October 28. Roman had two goals in the game to push Park over the top, 2-1.
 
It goes all the way back to 2019 when the goalkeeper from Haan, Germany last was all conference in the American Midwest Athletic Conference. It's been a fantastic journey for Eichhorn between the posts at Park and he is now a 2023 Heart Second Team All-Conference honoree just two games after becoming Park's all-time saves leader with 263 career saves.
 
Eichhorn has 60 saves in 2023 with a .759 save percentage. After three shutouts this year, Elias is also tied for the career shutouts record at Park with 14.
 
The Pirates are preparing for the fast approaching Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal match on Friday, November 3.
