The Park University women's soccer program hosted a game inside Julian Field for the first time in 20 days on Saturday. It was a tough Heart of America Athletic Conference matchup with the No. 4 nationally ranked Central Methodist University Eagles, ending in a Central Methodist win 3-1.
The Eagles are atop the Heart with a perfect 9-0 conference record and 13-1-1 on the season. The Pirates are currently No. 5 in the Heart at 5-4 and 8-4-1 on the season.
Two names came up constantly in the match, including Central Methodist's Mariana Barreto and Park's 
Patrycia Kozak. Both were today's shot on goal leaders with Barreto having six shots and five on goal, while Kozak fired seven shots with four on goal.
It would less than four minutes before Barreto gave the Eagles the 1-Nil lead with an assist coming from Celine Witt.
It continued to be an impressive showing for Barreto and the Eagles as she closed in on a hat trick with a goal in the 28
th minute and her third goal in the 48
th minute in the second half.
Cecilie Esbak Pedersen scored an unassisted goal immediately after the final Eagle goal in the 49
th minute.
The score would stay there the rest of the way as the game finished with 17 shots for Central Methodist and 12 for Park. For the match, Park's keeper 
Felicitas Mueller grabbed five saves and Candela Blanco Esteban for the Eagles claimed six saves.
It will be a "Pink Out" Game on Wednesday, October 25 at Julian Field for Breast Cancer Awareness Night as the Pirates take on No. 25 Benedictine College at 5pm.
