Antowin Edwards

Antowin Edwards enters his 6th season at Park University as the women’s assistant coach. He returns to Park after nine years away from the institution.  He spent four years at the helm of Colby Community College Lady Trojans Basketball Program. 

2014-15 was the Lady Trojans best season with Coach Edwards at the helm, as the Lady Trojans finished the season at 14-17, which was a 12-game improvement from the previous season. 

In his coaching career, Coach Edwards has helped 21 sophomores move on to four-year institution and continue their playing careers.   

Prior to Colby, Coach Edwards spent four years rebuilding the Lady Spartans program of Colorado Northwestern Community College. In his last season, he guided the team to 14 wins, which were the most in 14 seasons. While at Colorado Northwestern Community College, six players were All-Region selections and nine players received All-Academic recognition.

Prior to Colorado Northwestern Community College, he spent 10 seasons as an assistant for the men’s basketball team at Park University.  

Coach Edwards also pulled double duty for seven years by coaching at Park Hill High School and Park University. He has worked several camps and clinics throughout his career and served as the coach Della Lamb Running Angels.

Coach Edwards began his coaching career with the Pirates in 1999, under current Athletics Director Claude English and remained on staff when Jason Kline took over the Park men’s basketball program in 2004.

Coach Edwards played three seasons for the Pirates collegiately, he also holds a Masters Degree in Education, a Bachelors Degrees in Human Services and Criminal Justice all of which he attained a Park University.

Coach Edwards is married to Jamila Edwards and they have one beautiful daughter Brianna and one handsome son Antowin “AJ” Edwards Jr.
