Park University assistant softball coach Jeff Cain joins the Pirates in 2021. He will join Coach Derry's staff with a plethora of softball coaching experience.

Cain is a William Jewell graduate and played both baseball and football for the Cardinals. He was inducted into the William Jewell Hall of Fame, as a member of the 1980 William Jewell football team.

He has been a softball pitching instructor for over 26 years and served as the Smithville high school pitching coach from 2004-2014 and the Staley high school pitching coach from 2016 to present. He was also the head softball coach at Staley High School from 2018-19.
