The Pirates dominated in straight sets against the Mustangs. 16 different Pirates played at least one set. Teodora Tasic had a great match, totaling 10 kills in the win. Claire Bingham led with 12 digs, and the Pirates totaled eight service aces. Carlota Pinto and Caitlyn Klaiber both recorded their first kills in a Pirate uniform.
How it happened
Park jumped out of the gate with a 6-0 lead and continued that dominance throughout the first set, leading by as much as 13 at 22-9. Indi Zetic tallied five kills in the 25-13 set one win.
The Mustangs kept the set close at a 9-7 score. After that, it was all Pirates, as Park went on an eight-point run highlighted by the first kill from Caitlyn Klaiber in a Pirate uniform. Later, Carlota Pinto recorded her first kill as a Pirate to make the score 21-13. The Pirates quickly closed out the rest of set two and sealed a 25-14 win to move to a 2-0 match lead.
A run of five points and three runs of three points gave the Pirates all they needed in set three, including three Calire Bingham service aces in four points during the five-point run. Behind a variety of Pirates, Park coasted to a 25-12 set three win to finish off a dominant win against the Mustangs.
