Park University Women's Soccer fell to Culver Stockton on the road, 3-0, to start conference play. Park had opportunities, including five shots on goal, but couldn't put anything in the back of the net as Culver Stockton scored two goals early, in the 15th and 30th minutes, to set the tone.
How it happened
Culver Stockton came out to play early in the match, as the first shot of the game was put in the back of the net by Mikayla Gioia in the 15th minute. The Wildcats found a second goal just 15 minutes later, with Lola Weise.
Park did its best to put pressure on the Wildcats at the start of the second half. The Pirates put up three shots, including one on goal, in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Two more shots on goal in the 63rd minute kept the pressure on, but still couldn't find the back of the net. In the 76th minute, Culver Stockton scored a third goal and put the game on ice.
Park will look ot get its first win of the season as they host Missouri Valley University on Sept. 16.
