The No. 3 nationally ranked Park University men's volleyball program was in Ottawa, Kan. for a great matchup with (RV) Ottawa University. The Pirates were up to the task for a four set win and credit the Braves for a narrow set three win to extend the match, 25-21, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19.
The Pirates went to 22-0 and 14-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while the Braves go to 15-7 and 8-5 in Heart play.
The Pirates hit above .300 each set with exception of the third, where they were at .200. The Braves hit .241 for the match with their match-high in the third set at .526.
The Braves equalized things from from a serving perspective with seven service aces, compared to Park's six. They also out blocked Park, 11 to five. The Pirates were favored in the dig department with 39 digs for the match, while the Braves were at 18.
Park's
Adrian Figueroa nailed 27 kills and led Park defensively with eight digs.
Murillo Silva was at 18 kills and
Mihailo Ivanovic was the next closest Pirate offensively with five kills.
Figueroa and Silva also co-led the Pirates with two service aces apiece.
Jovan Nikolic had his career-high with 48 assists in the match.
