The No. 2 nationally ranked Park men's volleyball program was in Des Moines, Iowa on Tuesday night to face (RV) Grand View University and with the sweep of the Vikings, the Pirates clinched at least a share of the 2026 Heart of America Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship, 25-16, 25-21, 25-16.
This is the 9th regular season conference championship in program history with Park's 2nd Heart Regular Season Championship. 2023 was also a special season for the Pirates with a perfect 15-0 Heart record to secure the conference banner. This season have similar tones, as the Pirates remain undefeated with a record setting 26 match win-streak and a 17-0 Heart showing.
It's always a championship caliber matchup between Park and Grand View. These teams have alternated wins in their last four meetings, but Park holds a 6-2 advantage in the last eight matches in the series. This match has tipped the overall series record between these storied programs to Park at 17-16.
Grand View is 12-7 on the season with a 11-6 Heart record in 2026.
With the win Park becomes the first automatic qualifier to be determined for the NAIA National Championship Tournament. The Pirates will be the No. 1 seed in the Heart Conference Tournament as well on April 11, April 15, and April 18.
In the match, the Pirates hit .378, starting off with an exceptional .409 hitting percentage in the opening set. Grand View hit only .062 for the match and dealt with 10 Pirate blocks, while earning six total blocks for themselves.
The Pirates were led by
Adrian Figueroa with 15 kills in the match, while the freshman
Murillo Silva and the senior
Veljko Stojic were great supports offensively with seven kills each. Figueroa has been an impressive force this season leading the nation in kills per set at 5.04 and is coming off of an NAIA National Attacker of the Week award, announced just hours prior to the match.Â
Mihailo Ivanovic formed a wall up the middle with six blocks followed by Stojic at four and Figueroa at three.
Jovan Nikolic led the way at setter with 26 assists in the match.
Park will have Senior Day on Saturday, April 4 at 2pm against No. 9 William Penn University.
