The Park University men's basketball program was in Breckon Sports Center for a Senior Day matchup with Missouri Baptist University on February 21. The Spartans came out on top though, 84-66.
Park had the privilege to recognize four seniors,
Tyler Burrows,
Bayley Crawford,
Tristan McRoberts, and
Jamaal Davis.
The Pirates moved to a 10-18 overall record and a 7-13 season in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Spartans faired well in the Heart at 13-7 and had a 19-9 overall record.
It was a slower start for Park at only 10-of-38 from the field in the first half and three-of-five from free-throws. It was much improved to shooting 40-percent in the second half, but the Spartans shot 43-percent in the first half and an even 60-percent in the second half for the 84-66 win.
Park had 44 rebounds for the game to eclipse the Spartans with 36. Missouri Baptist was also nine-of-22 from beyond the arc to Park's four-of-24.
The Spartans were able to take care of the ball with only five turnovers compared to Park's 12. This led to 13 points off turnovers for the Spartans, while Park only cashed in on two points.
Amaire Perkins led Park with 17 points from the bench, while
Tristan McRoberts was next in scoring at 16 points.
Jamaal Davis showed out on senior day with his career-high in points with 13. Both McRoberts and Davis hauled in seven rebounds as well.
Otavio Armani led the Pirates in rebounds with nine and put up seven points as well.
Tyler Burrows was steady for Park with nine points and led the Pirates with five assists.
Crawford contributed on both sides of the court with three rebounds, two assists, one steal and block, and two points.
