The Park University men's cross country program began the season at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. for the Bob Timmons Classic on Saturday.

Park took 3rd with 91 points and only trailed Oral Roberts University and University of Kansas.

The transfer from Western Colorado University led the pack for the Pirates. Kayden Peters came in 15th on a 19:08.76 followed immediately after by returning NAIA National Qualifier Kayden Walker, who placed 18th with a 19:21.53.

Three more Pirates were sub 21 minutes in the 6k. Another sophomore,
William Norris placed 30th in a time of 20:16.08. Jacob Johnston was closing in behind at 20:32.21.
John Mattivi, in his first collegiate race, was also in the mix with a 20:54.64 for 40th place, while  Justin O'Brian and
Ian Walsh were the final Pirates to cross. O'Brian came in 55th with a 22: 27.39 and  Walsh took 60th after posting a 23:29.48.

Park will travel to Central College in Pella, Iowa for their next meet on Friday, Sept. 5th.Â
