The (RV) Park University men's cross country program was in Peoria, Ill. on Friday for the Bradley "Pink" Classic, taking 3rd place with 75 points.
The Pirates have been in the top 3 in five meets this year and the top five in all six of their meets.Â
In back-to-back meets,
Tom Kuehnel and
Caden Peters lead the charge for the Pirates.Â
Kuehnel, previously a Heart Runner of the Week this year, got the Pirates on the board first with a 25:28.80 for 9th place. His teammate Peters was right on his tail at 25:29.09 for 10th.
Then like clock work, the remaining Pirtes filed in, starting with
Cayden Walker and
Palmer O'Connor. Walker finished in a time of 25:48 for 22nd, while O'Connor was 29th at 26:01.
William Norris and
Cody Hammond were also a close pair in the race, as Norris was at 42nd in a time of 26:32 and Hammond posted a 26:35 for 44th.Â
Jakob Johnston was next at 27:34 for 78th and JT Taylor took 95th in a time of 28:06.Â
The final Pirates include,
Alexander Caines in 127th with a 29:06,
Ian Walsh at 141st with a 29:30, and
Justin O'Brien at 149th for a 29:46.
Park will be back at it for the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at Seminole Valley Park at noon.
