Park University's softball program won three out of four games at the Midwest College Classic in Shawnee, Kan. at Mid-America Sports Complex on Saturday and Sunday. With wins over Waldorf, Briar Cliff, and Kansas Wesleyan; the Pirates got to a six-game win streak before falling to Concordia University (Neb.).
Park jumps to 6-4 on the season with eight more non-conference games to go before Heart of America Athletic Conference play on March 21.

It was the second complete game of the year for
Hanna Vaught, who only allowed three hits in the game.

Gracie Ramsey. The second inning is really when the game turned to the Pirates side, as a seven run inning rolled in.
Halle Magee started it off with an two-RBI single up the middle. Doubles by
Shelby Sanders and Dani-Quin Klein McAlister drove in another three runs. With it 6-1, the honor was then for the freshman pitcher to knock in the final two runs of the game.
With the offense surging and the pitching dealing, the Pirates got done in game one in five innings, 8-0. Vaught struck out nine batters on the path to victory.

It was another good pitching performance by the Pirates in game two with the combination of
Myel White and
Lauren Fiene in the circle for the Pirates.
The offense kept it rolling into their second game against Briar Cliff on Saturday and back-to-back home runs by the seniors, Magee and Sanders put Park up 2-0. With the jolt by Magee, she now is tied with Park's all-time career home run record with 18 bombs in her career. She is now tied with Lexie Duncan who tied the record in 2022 and Jamie Tanno who has been the original record holder since 2013 in a two-year career.
The Chargers were able to get a run back in the bottom of the second, but the fourth inning was another round of runs for Park. Ramsey scored Vaught on a grounder to the second basemen and then an error by the third baseman allowed the fourth run to come in.
In three innings of work, White only allowed two hits and struck out five batters before passing the baton to Fiene. Fiene went the remaining four innings and added another five strike outs to the count.
A couple more runs came in for both sides, including two RBI's from
Emma James in the fifth and seventh. The Pirates would secure the win without drama, 7-3.

The drama would come in the third game of the weekend and third contest against Kansas Wesleyan this season. The Coyotes and Park split last week, but the Pirates triumphed in the third meeting of 2025.
Park scored in the first inning for the third straight game, as
Caroline Riffer scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first and a throwing error allowed Ramsey to score the next sequence.
The Coyotes were able to get out of the inning without further damage and held the Pirates down the next four innings without a run.
The Coyotes were able to answer immediately in the top of the second with a two-run double.
White got the start for Park, going 3.1 innings on five hits and two strikeouts. It was radio silence for both teams in the middle of this game, as pitching kept it tied for the next four innings.
Vaught took over in the fourth inning and with one out and the bases loaded, got out of a jam on a strikeout and a flyout to preserve the tie.
Vaught got her second win of the weekend and went to 3-1 on the year. She only allowed three hits, striking out two, and walking zero batters.
Magee jump started the offense with a lead-off double in the bottom of the sixth and a wild pitch got her to third. With two away and runners at third and second, it was up to Vaught who delivered an RBI single to score Magee for the eventual game-winning run.
The Coyotes with two outs in the top of the seventh made things interesting with back-to-back hits, but Vaught induced the fielder's choice to shortstop to end the game, 3-2.

This time Concordia was the team to strike first in the opening inning. Fiene got the start and went six solid inning for the Pirates.
An error in the bottom of the first opened the door for the Bulldogs, who eventually go their two runs on a two-out home run to go up 2-0.
Park was without a run for the first five innings. Meanwhile, Concordia added another run in the bottom of the third. Fiene, despite the runs, always bring some difficult stuff for hitters and she came away with a 10 strikeout game.
Both teams scored in the sixth inning, as Sanders singled to bring in Ramsey. Park down 4-1 in the seventh needed some life and
Faith Tessman brought a spark with a pinch hit appearance for a single. An error then further helped the Pirates with one out, putting runners at the corners.
Caidyn Bentz then grounded out to score a run, which helped but Park could of really used more baserunners for a proper comeback. The Bulldogs got a flyout to end the game the next batter, 4-2.
Park will be in Tucson, Ariz. for the Tucson Invitational Games from Sunday through Tuesday to begin spring break. There are six games lined up all in Mountain Standard Time.
