The Park University No. 5 nationally ranked women's beach volleyball program was in Ottawa, Kan. on Tuesday, March 18 with two matches against Wayne State College and (RV) Ottawa.
The Pirates move to 4-4 on the season and defeated its first NAIA opponent in Ottawa with a clean sweep. The match prior, Wayne State bested the Pirates 4-1.

Park got the win in the match between the No. 2 pairs.
Grecia Ung and
Aly Anderson handled business with a stellar 21-8 win and then stayed tough in a deep 23-21, 2-0 sweep. Two seniors,
Carla Pons Sales and
Patricia Carrio Ubeda took a set 24-22 in the No. 4 pair matchup, but Wayne State prevailed 2-1. The remaining matches were 2-0 sweeps for Wayne State.

The Pirates fired back in their match with Ottawa with all 2-0 sweeps across he board for the 5-0 team win. Only one set came within two points in the end, as Park had a strong showing with a overall point differential of 64 among the 1-5 pairs. Ung and Anderson move to 6-2 on the season, while Park's 1s get their first win of the season.
Mafalda Bras and
Luna Martins, and Pons and Ubeda all improve to four wins on the year, and
Abi Williams and
Loes Peijenberg bump up to 3-5.
