The Park University women's volleyball program earned three College Sports Communicators Academic All-District awards.
This year the Pirates that earned this honor include
Izabella Ceratti,
Avery Caskey, and
Irene Verdino.
This trio played a huge role in the Pirates 23-10 record, including an appearance to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Semifinals. Ceratti leading the team in kills this season with 344, with Caskey not too far behind her with 254 kills. Verdino is leading the team in digs this season with 505.Â
Verdino is now a two-time CSC Academic All-District award winner, while Ceratti and Caskey are first time recipients of this award. These three also have in common a 2024 Heart All-Conference award, Ceratti earning 1
st team, Caskey earning 2
nd team, and Verdino earning 3
rd team.
CSC aims to recognize the very best student-athletes in the nation, honoring both athletic and academic accomplishments. To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches, must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
