The Park University women's soccer program was traveled to Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday for an early evening contest with Grand View University. The Pirates came to play and captured the win, 1-nil.
Park moves to 3-4-1 on the year with their first win in the young Heart schedule and are now 1-2. Grand View has had their woes this season and are 1-3-2 on the year and 0-2-1 in conference play.
For Park this marks their third shutout of the season, going back to their first two outings of 2024.
Frankie Williams played the full 90 between the posts with four saves and secured her second win of the year.
Megan Everhart is tied as the season scoring leader for the Pirates and is in her first year at Park from McPherson, Kan. She had two shots on goal during the match, but on her first shot on goal in the first half, she registered the game winner off of the lead in from 
Cecilie Esbak Pedersen.
By halftime, the Pirates racked up eight shots with three on goal, while Grand View just managed two shots with one on goal.
Grand View came out with seven shots to Park's six in the second half, but the Pirates still edged the Vikings in the shot total with 14 to nine.
By the end of the event, Park and Grand View had the same number of saves. Williams had three coming in the second half to her credit, but with nothing touching the net for the Vikings, the Pirates left Des Moines with the 1-nil victory.
Park has its Homecoming matchup on Saturday, September 28 at 12pm against Graceland University.
