Park University's softball program had a great finish to the 2024 season, as the Pirates won their last four games of the season, including a pair of wins against Peru State College on Monday, April 29 at the Park Softball Complex.
Park was at an even .500 for the season at 20-20, while being 10-14 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
This is the second straight season the Pirates reached 10 wins in the Heart, but both times were passed up on the Heart Conference Tournament Championship.

Lauren Fiene was in the circle for the Pirates and only allowed one hit through four innings for her ninth win of the year, matching her number of wins from 2023. She had five strikeouts on in the game and had 101 strikeouts in 2024.
Nine different Pirates had hits in the contest with four Park players having multiple hits, Riffer, Magee, Sanders, and Gilbert.
The Pirates scored in each inning of the game for their most runs scored in a conference contest this season with 14 runs.
Day started things off with a two-run home run to leftfield for a 2-0 lead.
Four hits, including a two-RBI single by Sanders, in the second inning amounted to another three runs for Park, 5-0.
Six runs on four hits put the game well out of reach in the third inning, as Sanders cleared the bases with a double and then Klein smacked another double for another run. Gilbert also had an RBI single in the inning for an 11-0 lead.
Magee reeled in two more RBI's on a double in the fourth inning and then
Ashton Arndt hit her first home run of her Pirate career in the fifth.
Abbie Farmer came in to pitch in the fifth inning and a couple of errors in the inning allowed a run to score for the 14-1 win.
There were five extra base-hits by Park in the game.

Park continued offensively in the first inning with a two-spot for six consecutive innings of runs on the day. Riffer began game two with a single and a stolen base. She would finish 2024 with 36 stolen bases which moves her to No. 2 all-time at Park for single-season stolen bases, Britanee Willard had 41 stolen bases in 2016.
She would come around to score on a fielder's choice a couple plays later. Gilbert then singled to right field to give Park the 2-0 lead.
The Bobcats were able to tie it up in the bottom of the second, Peru State was considered the home team for these games, and scored two runs on two hits and a walk.
The offenses were held scoreless in the next two innings, until Park scored two runs in the fifth and sixth innings for a 6-2 score.
Magee had a ground out to score
Miranda LaMunyon and then with two outs Sanders came through again with an RBI single for extra insurance. Sanders had quite the series to close out her junior year with seven RBI's between the two games.
Magee drew a walk for her second RBI of the game in the sixth followed by a sacrifice fly from Day to score LaMunyon from third.
Dakota Rau shut things down the last five innings in the circle for the complete game and her eighth win of the season. She had a career low in ERA with 3.07 and had career high's in wins, innings pitched, complete games, and strikeouts. She had 18 games started with 102.2 innings pitched, struck out 46 batters, and had an ERA of 3.07.
