Park University's No. 3 nationally ranked men's volleyball program have been recognized with four NAIA Men's Volleyball American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans on Monday.

This year, Joao Friedrich is the lone Pirate on the AVCA First Team All-America, while Daniel Isernhagen and Eduardo Faquin are AVCA Second Team All-Americans. Samuel Essilfie also comes in with an Honorable Mention All-American award of his own.

This marks the fourth consecutive season Park has gained at least four NAIA AVCA All-Americans for the year.

Friedrich has been an AVCA All-American the last three seasons and this is his second first team selection. He was the AVCA-NAIA National Freshman of the Year in 2021. As the 2023 Heart Player and Attacker of the Year, he has garnered some major attention this season with 240 kills and hitting .320 this season. He has 15 matches over 10 kills and is No. 2 in the nation in service aces with 58.

Faquin has been spectacular in his freshman season and was named the 2023 Heart Setter of the Year to go along with his second team All-American selection. He distributed 735 assists for a 9.67 assists per set average. As a team, Park has hit over .300 this year and Faquin has been a key factor in that success.

Isernhagen was a 2022 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention candidate and now he upped his status to a second team All-American label. He has 76 total blocks this year and ranks No. 7 in the NAIA and No. 2 in the Heart in blocks per set with 1.13. The middle blocker has a strong swing as well with 133 kills on the season.

Essilfie introduced himself with authority to the Heart and the opposite side hitter earned a 2023 Heart Freshman of the Year award recently to go along with his AVCA All-American Honorable Mention accolade. He squared up the ball for 269 kills, an average of 3.74 kills per set, and hit for .259. He had a balanced game with 116 digs and 48 blocks as well.

No. 3 Park will matchup with Webber International University tomorrow, April 11 at 4pm in 2023 NAIA Men's Volleyball National Championship Pool Play at the MidAmerican Energy Company RexPlex in West Des Moines, Iowa.
