The Park University No. 5 nationally ranked women's beach volleyball program made the short trip to the Ottawa Beach Volleyball Tournament on Wednesday in Shawnee, Kan. and were a perfect 4-0 in their matches.  

Park is now 5-1 on the season with their only loss coming against University of Nebraska. Notably, the Pirates already have a win against NCAA Division II Wayne State College and add an NAIA Top 10 win against No. 10 Missouri Baptist University today.

Park had three 5-0 sweeps against Evangel University and Ottawa University twice. In all three sweeps, Park's five pairs did not give up a single set to their opponents.

Park's match with Missouri Baptist came down to the wire, 3-2. All but one of the pairs went the full three sets and there were three sets decided by three or less points. Park was on the favorable side, winning two of the three of those close sets. The competition between Park's 2's, Jullia Alvarez and Szonja Stollar, and Missouri Baptist was intense with the lowest point differential of all sets in the match at +3 for Park. Alvarez and Stollar came all the way back to win two consecutive sets for the 2-1 win, including a 16-14 victory in the final frame.

Park will have a quick turnaround with the Hendrix College Beach Volleyball Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19 in Conway, Ark., featuring matches with Hendrix College and University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
