• 2022-23 Heart of America Athletic Conference Larry Lady Scholarship Award winner. Only one male and female athlete in the Heart are selected annually for the former Heart Commissioner's scholarship award. Character on and off the field, as well as academic considerations go into the selection process for the Larry Lady Award.

Previous Seasons

• 2020: Appeared in two games on the mound for the Pirates…He pitched 2.1 innings without recording a win or loss, surrendering nine earned runs for a 15.43 ERA, five hits, two walks, and one strikeout…In the field, he did not record a stat in any fielding category.
• 2021: Barnett appeared in 9 games, starting in 2 them. At the plate, he recorded a .500 batting average with 1 RBI. On the mound, he appeared in 8 games, starting 2 of them. He earned 2 wins with a 6.92 ERA.
• 2022: Pitched two back-to-back, complete game shutouts against Central Methodist University and Graceland University. The first time since 2013 a Park pitcher has pulled of two compllete game shutouts in a row.

Personal

• Son of Jeff and Jenifer Barnett
• Kyler has one younger sibling, Kenzy
• He is pursuing a degree in business administration with a focus in digital marketing
• He chose Park because of the academics, the opportunity to be a part of a great baseball program, and being close to home
• He attended Truman High School in Independence, Missouri
• He has received two All-Area Honorable Mention awards, one All-Conference Honorable Mention accolade, one McCoy Award of academic distinction, and a three time Academic Letter recipient
• Kyler enjoys watching Marvel movies, golfing, fishing, and skiing
