Park University's own standout pitcher from the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons, Adam Clay, joined the Pirates' coaching staff for the 2021-22 campaign. Clay has been heavily involved with the program for several years as a volunteer before this point. 

As a player, Clay is second all-time in Park baseball history with 168 career strikeouts, and holds multiple pitching records including, 21 appearances in a single-season, 83 innings pitched in a single season, nine wins in a single-season, strikeouts in a single season with 92, and complete games in a single season with eight.
