Early on in the season walks can be a little elevated and unfortunately for Park in the last two games of the series they allowed nine walks a game.
Park took the lead again in the first inning on an RBI single from Rivera and another sacrifice fly from Lufft to make it 2-0.
Nelson would respond with three runs in the next two innings, but Park had the makings for a sweep six runs in the third and fourth innings. In the third, an error scored Torres and then a solo home run by Morrow tied it up 4-4.
Park's big four run inning came in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by Rivera, a sacrifice fly by Torres, and then a clutch two-RBI single by Hernandez.
The hopes of sweep turned sour though in the bottom of the fourth as seven Lion runs poured in. Nelson would outscore Park in the remaining three innings 12-4, as Nelson took game three, 23-12.
The Pirates will look to continue to build on their season with a local tournament at Homefield Baseball Complex in Kansas City, Kan. this weekend. Game times could be subject to change.
